OFFICIAL MINUTES
LONG LOST LAKE TOWNSHIP
February 14, 2006

Present:

Dave Johnson – Supervisor , Jon Jennings – Supervisor, Greg Scherzer – Supervisor, Dick Toomey – Treasurer, Marv Mortenson- Clerk

1. Meeting was called to order by Supervisor Johnson at 7:00 pm.

2. Minutes of last meeting approved. Motion by Scherzer, second by Johnson – passed 3-0

Discussion took place on how to note in the minutes a vote that was not unanimous.

3. Treasurer report approved. Motion by Johnson, second by Scherzer – passed 3-0

Bill from Farmers Independent will not be paid. The color paper for ballots was paid at time of pick up. The check prepared by Treasurer Toomey was marked "Void". Supervisor Johnson will go to the Farmers Independent office and clarify the bill. Motion by Johnson, second by Scherzer – passed 3-0

4. Old Business

-Alternative date for the election and annual meeting, in case of bad weather on March 14th, was set for March 21st and the same time frame. Motion by Johnson, second by Jennings – passed 3-0

- Approve for mailing the letter prepared by Supervisor Johnson to all registered voters. Motion by Scherzer, second by Jennings – passed 3-0

-Weed control update by Supervisor Scherzer. Supervisor Scherzer will contact other Townships to see how they deal with weed control and if they have a developed policy.

-Road Supervisor Jennings presented the final draft of the Road Policy. Motion to approve Road Policy by Scherzer, second by Johnson – passed 3-0

5. New Business

- Board of Audit was conducted by the Supervisors. Motion to approve audit by Scherzer, second by Johnson – passed 3-0

- Treasurer Toomey presented a proposed budget. The supervisors added a couple of line items and approved the budget for presenting to the citizens at the Annual meeting. Motion by Johnson, second by Scherzer – passed 3-0

- Township ballots approved. Motion by Scherzer, second by Jennings – passed 3-0

- Requests for donations from Clearwater First Responders & Clearwater 4-H were not approved. Motion by Johnson, second by Scherzer – passed 3-0

- Motion to not pass the resolution of support for removing towns from the HAVA regulation. Motion by Johnson, second by Jennings – passed 3-0

- Motion: The LLL Township is not in a financial possision to become the governing body for enforcement of MN Statute 463.15. However the town board is in support of the efforts of the LLL Association’s Structure Removal Committee and will work with of LLL Association’s Structure Removal Committee. The board will be represented at meetings with County Officials and the Structure Committee when discussing the enforcement of MN Statute 463.15 governing the removal of Hazardous Buildings. Motion by Scherzer, second by Jennings – passed 2-1, Johnson voting nay.

6. Other:

- Board meeting on March 14th at 6:00 pm at Supervisor Jennings residence. April 11th and May 9th meetings will be held at Supervisor Johnson residents at 7:00 pm. Motion by Scherzer, second by Jennings – passed 3-0. (Later moved to March 15th at 7:00 PM at Johnson’s residence because of prohibition on government meetings on the 14th. The clerk will publish the proper notice in the paper for months of March, April and May.

- Board Policy Established. The township will reimburse board members for registration fees and mileage for pre approved training. Mileage will be reimbursed at the same rate Clearwater County uses. The present rate is 44.5 cents per mile. Motion by Johnson, second by Scherzer – passed 3-0

7. Adjourn. Motion by Scherzer, second by Jennings – Passed 3-0
