Regular Town Board Meeting of

LONG LOST LAKE TOWNSHIP

July 10, 2007

                                               

 

 

Present:

Dave Johnson –  Supervisor, Dick Toomey – Treasurer, Marv Mortenson -  Cleck , Greg Scherzer – Supervisor,  Jon Jennings – Supervisor

 

1.  Meeting was called to order by Supervisor Johnson at 7:00 pm.

 

2.  Additions to the agenda were called for.

                -- New Business:  Summer Short Course & Weeds

Motion to approve the agenda by Johnson,  second by Scherzer – passed 3-0

 

3.  Motion to dispense with the reading of the minutes; approve the minutes of the last regular meeting as

                written.     Motion by Johnson, second by Scherzer – passed 3-0

               

4. Treasurer report:   

                -- Cash Balance of $29,683.39

                -- Invested Balance of $35,980.05

                -- Total Balance of $63.663.44

Motion to approve Treasurer’s report by Johnson, second by Jennings– passed 3-0

 

5. Claims for payment:

                $393.75 to Clearwater County for blading

Motion to approve payment, Scherzer, second by Jennings – passed 3-0

 

6. Old Business:

A. Spraying of road side has been completed

 

B. County gravel pits within the township have not been sprayed.  Mr. Cox, Land Commissioner, says they will be sprayed.

 

C. Work on “Big Hill” road started July 10th .

               

D.  Mr. Kimbell, DNR,  responded by email concerning the public access.  In short,  nothing will be done this year.  (letter is attached)

 

                                                                               

7.  New Business:

 A.  Spot graveling to township roads:

                  Supervisor Jennings will see to it that spot graveling is completed on the township roads.  He is authorized to spend up too $2,000 on this project.

Motion by Scherzer, second by Johnson -- passed 3-0

 

B. Summer Short Curses will be held in Bemidji on July 26th.  No township officers are planning to attend.

 

E.  Weeds:  Township weed control officer, Greg Scherzer, will register complaints with the Environmental  Services office concerning infestation of thistle on county forest land and of spotted nap weed in county gravel pits.

 

8.  Motion to adjourn by Johnson, second by Jennings – Passed 3-0
