Town Board Meeting of

LONG LOST LAKE TOWNSHIP

April 10, 2013

 

Present: Dave Johnson, Supervisor--Ardell Johnson, Supervisor--Greg Scherzer, Supervisor--Dick Toomey, TreasureróMarv Mortenson, Clerk

 

  1. Meeting was called to order by Supervisor Dave Johnson at 7:05 pm.

 

  1. Additions for the agenda were called for:  Motion to accept the agenda made by D. Johnson, second by G. Scherzer, passed 3-0

 

  1. Reading of the Minutes

A motion to dispense with the reading of the minutes and approve the minutes of the last regular meeting as written made by G. Scherzer, second by D. Johnson, passed 3-0.

 

  1. Treasurerís Report (See details on attached reports)

            Cash Balance of      $24,695.33

            Investments of           28,251.77

                                             $52,947.10

          Motion to approve the treasurerís report made by D. Johnson, second by A. Johnson, passed 3-0.

 

  1. Claims for Payment

             $400.00 Clearwater County Highway Dept

             $ 25.99 David Johnson (Office Max)

              $350.00 Clearwater County Highway Dept

           $2,202.00 Elbow-Tulaby Lakes Fire Dept

           $2,977.99

Motion to approve claims for payment, excluding Elbow-Tulaby Lakes Fire Dept., made by G Scherzer, second by D. Johnson, passed 3-0

 

  1. Old Business
    1. Traffic Sign Inspection and Record

The town board has set July 1 as a self imposed date to complete the first step in meeting the Federal and State mandate on traffic signs. The board has contracted Lasting Landscapes (Owner Greg Scherzer) to perform maintenance on 8 traffic signs.  This maintenance is to be completed by May 31, of 2013 at an approximate cost of $200.  Motions for approval by D. Johnson, second by A. Johnson,  passed 2-0 with G. Scherzer abstaining.

 

The board also discussed the rating scale for signs. It was decided to change the categories to read as:

1.        OK or Acceptable

2.        Replace

3.        Maintenance Required.

    1. Road Inspection Tour.

Due to the amount of snow and frozen ground, the tour has been cancelled.  D. Johnson will set up the tour when the weather and road conditions are acceptable.

 

  1. New Business
    1. Fire contract for 2013

The fire contract with Elbow-Tulaby Lakes VFD, Inc. did not change from 2012.  The cost and specifications are the same.  After review of the contract by the board, G. Scherzer moved to accept the contract and make payment, second by D. Johnson, passed 3-0

               D. Johnson made a motion to adjourn, A. Johnson seconded, passed 3-0 at 8:02 pm.
