Regular Town Board Meeting of
LONG LOST LAKE TOWNSHIP
October 9th, 2012
Present: Dave Johnson, Supervisor -- Ardell Johnson, Supervisor, -- Dick Toomey, Treasurer -- Marv Mortenson, Clerk -- Greg Scherzer, Supervisor
1. Meeting was called to order by Supervisor Dave Johnson at 7:00 PM.
2. Additions to the agenda were called for:
Old Business: Winter Sanding of “Big Hill” & Wash board effect on Big Hill Rd
New Business: Township Zoning & Unauthorized signs along township roads
Motion to approve the agenda made by D. Johnson, second by C. Scherzer – passed 3-0
3. Reading of the Minutes
Motion to dispense with the reading of the minutes and to approve the minutes of the last regular meeting as written. Motion by D. Johnson, second by G. Scherzer – passed 3-0
4. Treasurer report: (see detailed attached reports)

Motion to approve Treasurer’s report by D. Johnson, second by A. Johnson – passed 3-0
5. Claims for payment:

Motion to approve payment of claims by G. Scherzer, second by A. Johnson – passed 3-0
6. Old Business:
A. Approval of Traffic Sign Policy: Motion by G. Scherzer, second by A. Johnson – Passed 3-0
B. Mowing of township road shoulders: A. Johnson says he contacted the county but doesn’t know why it was not done.
C. Winter sanding of “Big Hill”: G. Scherzer will have an update for the Dec. meeting. The township has not been billed for sanding last winter. The bill should be for two applications, $150.00.
D. Wash Board effect on Big Hill Rd: A. Johnson will check with the county engineer on the possibility of double blading and/or chemical treatment and other possible solutions. He will have a report for the December meeting.
7. New Business:
A. Review of 2013 Meeting dates: The clerk shared possible dates for meetings. Dates to be finalized at Dec. meeting.
B. Township Zoning: A. Johnson shared the zoning regulations for Copal Township. A. Johnson will find other township zoning regulations and report at the next meeting.
C. Unauthorized signs along township roads: There are a few signs on the road right of way that have not been approved by the township board. A supervisor will have a discussion with the property owner in the immediate area.
D. Other: no action required.
-- Letter to Mr.& Mrs. Jesse Cox outlining the agreed to issues and the conformation of their new approach to Big Hill Road
-- Clearwater County Township Assoc. meeting 10/25
-- Property Tax Levy Certification Form – was completed and returned to auditor office 8/25/2012
-- Town Road Certification of mileage and service.
-- Board of Canvas Meeting Nov. 13th, 1:00 PM, D. Johnson residence.
