Regular Town Board Meeting of
LONG LOST LAKE TOWNSHIP
June 9, 2009
Present: Dave Johnson, Supervisor -- Ardell Johnson, Supervisor, -- Dick Toomey, Treasurer -- Marv Mortenson, Clerk
Absent: Greg Scherzer, Supervisor
1. Meeting was called to order by Supervisor Dave Johnson at 7:00 PM.
2. Additions to the agenda were called for:
Motion to approve the agenda made by D. Johnson, second A. Johnson – passed 2-0
3. Reading of the Minutes
Motion to dispense with the reading of the minutes and to approve the minutes of the last regular meeting as written. Motion by D. Johnson, second by A. Johnson – passed 2 -0
4. Treasurer report:
-- Cash Balance of $17,294.75
-- Invested Balance of $43,299.59
-- Total Balance of $60,594.34
Motion to approve Treasurer’s report by, D. Johnson second by A. Johnson– passed 2-0
5. Claims for payment:
$650.00 Clearwater County Highway Dept.
Motion to approve payment by D. Johnson, second by A. Johnson—passed 2-0
Note: New Business was moved ahead of old business in the agenda to accommodate a guest.
6. Old Business:
A. Traffic Sign Inventory: Information on this topic is to be provided at the MAT summer short course in July. Therefore sign inventory will be moved to the Aug. town board meeting.
B. Review Road Inspection Tour: A. Johnson reviewed the information gathered on the inspection tour. There are three areas that need attention. At the intersection of Chimney RD and McKenzie there is a need for gravel, water standing on the curve by Rambos’s drive, and wash area on McKenzie road a quarter mile south of Ecton Ln. A. Johnson will make the necessary contacts to have these areas fixed. The cost of these repairs should be minimal.

C. Board Policy on Donation Request: The policy was read and reviewed. Motion to establish said policy by A. Johnson, second by D. Johnson – passed 2-0
D. April 17th Clearwater Township County Meeting: D. Johnson attended the meeting. He reports that the formula for dispersing gas tax money was discussed, county spraying for this summer reviewed and the damage caused by spring flooding. He also reported that the coffee and pastries were especially tasty this month.
7. New Business:
A. Mr. Ron Carnell , representing Emmons & Olivier Land Surveyors, explained the process of surveying and recording of town roads. The cost of doing surveying and recording ranges from $1,500.00 to $2,500.00 per road mile. The town supervisors will check with the county if Seaberg Ln has been recorded. Seaberg LN has private property on both sides of the road and more susceptible to road, private land conflicts.
- We received the township Demographics: population 64 & household 28
- Board Members were issued their Membership cards to MAT
- An index listing current town board policy was distributed.
